These forums serve as vital platforms that regularly bring together experts and user communities from various institutions across different regions to collaboratively produce reliable climate information. Building on this foundation, the ClimSA Programme is investing significant resources to actively support and strengthen RCOFs across the ACP regions, recognising their crucial role in enhancing climate services and resilience.

These guidelines outline best practices for creating UIPs that facilitate trust, communication and collaboration, ensuring that climate data translates into effective decision-making. By incorporating diverse engagement methods - ranging from digital tools to interactive forums - the guidelines support more responsive and user-driven climate services. This resource is essential for organisations aiming to improve climate resilience through collaborative knowledge exchange.

    The Capacity Building Strategy (CBS) of the ClimSA Programme provides a structured framework to address these gaps. A consultant was engaged to develop the Strategy. The process involved a review of existing capacities and an assessment of the opportunities and constraints affecting the achievement of the programme’s intended results. The principal recipients of the CBS are the Regional Climate Centres (RCCs), but the same approach applies to National Meteorological and Hydrological Services and other stakeholders of the climate services value chain. By equipping staff and institutions with the necessary tools and skills, the ClimSA Programme contributes to a workforce better prepared to generate climate services that are more effective and adapted to the needs of policymakers and stakeholders at all levels.
