Building Capacity of Regional Climate Centres to advance climate adaptation across Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific
The ClimSA Programme is proud to have participated in COP29, a pivotal event in the global fight against climate change. This conference provided a vital platform for sharing the Programme’s achievements, challenges and results over the past four years. By being present at COP29, ClimSA had the opportunity to showcase how it is contributing to enhancing climate services across Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific, demonstrating the importance of collaboration and knowledge-sharing among Regional Climate Centres.
During COP29, ClimSA hosted a series of seven side events across various pavilions, including the Africa, CARICOM and Pacific pavilions. These events have brought together climate experts from diverse regions to discuss collaboration, shared insights and learn from one another’s experiences.
One of the Programme’s key accomplishments has been fostering closer connections between scientists across regions, enabling them to better understand the unique contributions and capabilities of each Regional Climate Centre.
As we continue to take stock of our participation at COP29, we are updating this page with more details. Please click on the links below to know more about various side events.
