The ClimSA Programme will be present at the upcoming COP27 UN Climate Change Conference to be held in Sharm-el-Sheik, Egypt from 06 November to 18 November 2022.
The COP 27 will address in particular the climate challenges of the African continent as its contribution to greenhouse gas emissions is very low while suffering disproportionately from its negative impacts.
Alongside the technical implementing partners and the regional beneficiaries, the ClimSA Programme will showcase how advancing climate services for socio-economic benefits can reinforce decision making processes and foster strategic choice in favour of a sustainable economic growth in Africa as well as in the Caribbean and Pacific regions. Presentations and discussions will also highlight experiences on the lessons learnt by the regions, as well as the challenges faced in the use of climate-smart decision-making tools, which have been developed to make the uptake of climate information more user-friendly.
As lead organiser, ClimSA has invited keynote speakers to participate in side events to be held in different pavilions. Below we present ClimSA ‘s side events, whose schedule will be updated regularly :
