Since the late 90’s, The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) has initiated an innovative process known as Regional Climate Outlook Forums (RCOFs) in the various regions of the world.
The Regional Climate Outlook Forums gather National Meteorological and Hydrological Services (NMHSs), regional institutions, international organisations national and climate experts on a regular and operational basis.
The Forums produce consensus-based regional climate outlooks on the basis on climate predictions from all participants. Climate outlook products reach out to users in real time and allow to reduce climate-related risks and support sustainable development for the coming season in sectors of critical socioeconomic significance for the region in question.
Climate products are available online for all the regions through the WMO network of certified regional climate centers.
