The intra-ACP Climate Services and related Applications programme (ClimSA) in Central Africa, convened the regional climate outlook forum (PRESAC) from 3rd to 7th April 2023, in Ndjamena Chad to issue the climate outlook for April to June 2023.
For the period April-May-June 2023, excess rainfall is expected in southwestern Angola. Average to excess rainfall is very likely in southern Chad, northern and extreme northern Cameroon, northern and western CAR and south-eastern DRC. During the same period, temperatures well above the 1991-2020 average, i.e. an increase of between 1 and 1.5°C, are expected in south-eastern Cameroon, northern Congo and north-western DRC. Northern Chad, Northwest, Southwest, West, Central and Littoral Cameroon, Northern Gabon, Central Congo and North-eastern DRC should expect an increase including between 0.5 and 1°C.
